Horse Talk

Grady is now officially half mine :) I went over and rode him on Friday but only for like half an hour, and I'm actually sore! I'm heading over after supper tonight to do some ring work. Hopefully my near and dear friend Keith will be there to school me over some jumps cause I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to jump unless there's someone there. Tomorrow morning, I'm thinking eight thirty-ish, nine-ish Grady and I will hit the trails. I've never been in those trails before, but Grady has so I'm confident that if we get lost he'll bring me back safely. Plus the whole adventure part of it is going into the unknown. And for anyone going "well that's not very safe". Yea I know it's not all that safe, but when did life become safe? And going on a nice trail ride is a great way to form a bond, which is important for any horse/rider relationship because stepping up to a horse is the beginning of an adventure whereby we stand poised on the brink of personal discovery. For all you non horse people out there, have you ever wondered what it was like to be on the back of a horse and fly over a jump; whether it be a vertical or a fallen log? Well I'm here to tell you as best as I can what it's like because it's an amazing feeling that should be shared with everyone. So I'll start with what it's like to just be on a horse's back. The energetic sensation of riding a horse has no comparison; when we feel as one, it's the most magical connection ever. I know how cliché that sounds, but it's true. Now think about jumping. It's two completely different animals coming together as one. For a few seconds you and your horse are defying gravity, you're flying together in perfect synchronization. So if that's not enough to make you at least crack a smile, then I don't know what is.

Horse Crazy

Alright, it's been a while so here's an update. My aunt is safe and sound in Alberta as of 8:30 last night -her time- or 10:30 last night - our time-. I haven't had a chance to talk to her yet, but from what my grandma tells me she had a good trip. As for the picture, well my computer's still being stupid, so any pictures that I don't already have on it won't be on it. Here is some news though, as of Friday I will be leasing a horse...FINALLY! After an extremely long winter of being kept away from them, due to the fact that it's just too cold for my coach to stand there and do nothing for a whole hour and that the ring in inhabited by snow. Then spring came and things got complicated. Meaning my coach and her husband of I'm not sure how many years got separated leaving her with almost no money and forcing her to sell her gorgeous house and move into the city. She's also trying to sell her horse, saddle and well basically everything horse-like since she can no longer afford a horse. Since she's now in the city, she's no longer giving lessons out here in the middle of nowhere. So I had to borrow my friend's horse a few times just to keep my muscles from becoming jello, since that's never good. And since I now have a job, I can pay to lease a horse! I got an awesome deal from a girl at the barn where I used to get lessons, I can ride her horse for 100$  a month and I can ride him 4 times a week. It gets better too. I already know the girl, and everyone else there, plus I already rode her horse so it's nothing new, which I love cause quite honestly new things scare me. So I bet your sitting there going that's great but I wanna know the name of the horse, or what it looks like. So I'll tell you. His name is Grady and here's a picture (or two). He's one of the sweetest horses ever and would do anything to make you happy but still gives you a little bit of a challenge, which is totally my kind of horse :).

Family Fun

Hi there! I haven't had a chance to post much lately, due to the fact that my aunt arrived from Alberta, and I wanted to spend as much time with her as possible. She's leaving tomorrow, I'm very sad to see her go, but I know that I can call her any time so that makes me feel better. We did so many things....ok well maybe not that many we mostly just hung out here, but it was so much fun. And since she is a member of my family, she had her share of blonde moments such as trying to make toast when the toaster wasn't even plugged in. Last Saturday night my aunt Evelyn-the one from Alberta-, my aunt Rita-who lives three houses down from me-, my aunt Carole and my uncle Ted-who own a bakery in town- all went to the Caruso Club for the Italian festival in town to watch my cousin Jessica-Carole and Ted's daughter-sing. It was a pretty awesome night. Then last night everyone went over to my aunt Rita's house....well almost everyone. There were some people missing; obviously. I ended up going after work at 4ish. It was alot of fun. My cousin Adele, her boyfriend Matt, my cousin Jessica and I all ended up playing volleyball; with Adele's dog Cooper trying to join the mix. Me and Matt lost....kinda. We weren't really keeping score, but we know we lost cause we sucked....I blame it on him :) . So I'll leave you now because I'm really hungry.  P.S. I was going to upload a pic of all my aunts and uncles, minus one aunt who's still in Alberta, but my computer's being stupid so I'll try and fix it!

Wonderland trip

Wonderland, was amazing, as predicted. According to my friends, we managed to hit 28 rides, from 10 am to 8:30 pm. We also snuck in some shopping and eating, and of course: BATHROOM BRAKES! The first ride my 3 friends hit was Behemoth, I refuse to go on that ride. My first ride was Sledge Hammer. It was awesome. The last ride that we did all together was The Fly. Haha, i know, but its just an awesome ride. We also did psyclone. To anyone out there who's scared to go on it, don't be, it's amazing. So here are my top 5 in no particular order:
-dragon fire
-psyclone
-nightmares
-backlot stunt coaster
-sledge hammer
I spent the whole day on an hour and a half of sleep, now I know I can function like that, and I didn't even need any coffee! It was a fun day.

Annoying Adult Friends

Do you have any annoying adult friends? I have one. He came to see me at work today, and he knows my boss so she lets him bug me. Anyway he ordered a small poutine and pogo, which is really besides the point, it's just that he always orders that. But yea, ok so he likes to bug me and there were a few people around and he was like, "If you don't give her a tip, she spits in  your food." so this poor innocent guy gave me a tip. I want to hit my friend, he does that to me all the time, and he always has to give me a hard time. Ok now that that's off my chest, I just had to talk about it, oh and let me know if you do have any people in your life who do that, leave me your stories too. Don't you just love talking to friends that you haven't talked to in years? I know I do. I'm talking to a friend that I haven't talked to since March, it's amazing how much time goes by before you realize that you haven't talked to someone. And it seems as though this week is a week for lost friends, just the other day at work I saw two of my friends that I haven't seen in YEARS! It was great. Since it seems as though we're on the topic of friends, I'll keep talking about mine. So I also love when a friend feels that they can trust you enough to tell you a secret, not those stupid, I like him secrets but secrets that actually mean something. It just makes you feel that much closer to them.

Canada day :)

I would like to start off by saying Happy Canada Day! Today our country turns 144 years old.....or something like that. So anyways, today I found this really awesome song. Ok well I already knew that it existed but I found a really awesome video of it. Now before I give you the link, I'm gonna warn you that it's country....very old country. The video was taken in 1981, and the song became a hit way before that, if I'm right. So the reason that I love this video so much better than all the other videos that were taken to this song is because, it's just so much more special. The singer (the late and great Conway Twitty) is singing this song to the amazing Loretta Lynn. These people are country music ICONS! They basically made country music. They're sooo cute together, I love them. They're voices compliment each other so nicely and although no one's said anything, I'm sure there was something a little more than friendship going on there, even though both of them were married. Before I give you the link I just wanna tell you that the man sitting behind or beside Loretta is NOT her husband, it's Ernest Tubb, not too long before his unfortunate death (he was another country music great.). And you have to watch Conway and Loretta's facial expressions from 1:16 to 1:38 and listen to the lyrics too. It's obvious that they're both remembering something that happened. Also if you listen closely at the end you hear Conway say "I love you Loretta." then they hug and if you listen it sounds as if she says "I love you too baby.".  Ok so now you've waited long enough, here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ej9Dqhe5p4  . I hope you enjoy this song the way I did. Now if you really really liked it (the way I do) you can go check out Loretta's version, here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOQmbBLOs4c&feature=related / . Alright so if you didn't go check out the videos, then your probably like ok well there's nothing for me here. Well probably not because quite honestly, I'm very tired and have to get up at 6:15 tomorrow morning since I have to babysit, which I really don't want to....but anyways, hope you enjoyed the videos and keep checking back here for some new stuff.
